Meet The Team

Chase Alger

Born and raised in Roswell, Ga, Chase went to Roswell High School and attended Valdosta State University.  Growing up in the South, he was born with a love for BBQ, not just the taste, but the method.

Chase's dream was to be a full time musician, which he did for many years touring the U.S. with his band The Deadfields. His first dose of Smoke Ring came in October 2013 when Jordan Wakefield asked the band to play the restaurant's Grand Opening. Chase quickly fell in love with the concept and the Wakefields and by the end of the night, he had landed a job serving when he wasn't on the road with his band.

As the touring slowed down, Chase began to pick up more shifts and also began to help Erin behind the bar.  After 3 years with the Smoke Ring family, he was promoted to General Manager where he helps out with day to day operations and helps Jordan with cooking competitions, festivals and tailgates.  He and Jordan are also the founders of the Smoke Ring Jerky Bar, where you can get a wide variety of homemade jerky.

Chase considers Smoke Ring and Castleberry Hill his second home and family. Although his touring days are over, you can still catch him at our monthly Bluegrass Brunches picking and grinning.
